Lindsy & Cody - Country, Classic Wedding

Lindsy and Cody first came to me last year about shooting their engagement session and from there I did Lindsy's bridals and recently shot their beautiful outdoor wedding. The wedding was held in the backyard of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum in Piggott, AR. I had never been to this museum, nor did I know it existed and it's only 45 minutes from my childhood home in Missouri!!

It was a gorgeous wedding with beautiful details and elegance. I loved the rustic, classy feel it had. The color scheme for fall was perfect. I guess it reminded me of my wedding a little since my anniversary was 3 days after her wedding.

I loved this! I think it was one of the groomsmen that asked me before the ceremony started..."Would it be ok if we all high-fived Cody as we walk past??" My response..."ummm, YES!!!" *sorry Lindsy* I thought it was funny and definitely lightened the mood even more. :)

What was the most memorable moment from the day? Waiting upstairs in the barn with all the girls and peeking out the window at the people outside while Cody was standing right below us! It was so exciting!

Any advice you have for future bride and grooms? Enjoy every detail of the day because it goes by so fast, breathe, and be genuine!

What was the funniest memory? (maybe also the most stressful!)lol The majority of my bridesmaids getting lost on the way to the wedding!

Jacqueline & Ben's Destin Wedding Weekend

Well...I've known Jacqueline for about 7 years now. Our freshman year of college, we were suite mates and thus began our journey of friendship. We've traveled half-way around the world together when we studied abroad in Australia with several friends. When she asked me to be apart of her wedding weekend I was more than honored. Despite Tropical Storm Lee, it was a wonderful weekend filled with friends and family and football! We started off the weekend watching some Razorback football and as you can tell from the first few pictures below there were a "few" fans as well.

Lindsy's Vineyard Bridals

I've known Lindsy for several years now and was honored she and Cody asked me to document the beginning of their new life together. She is such a goooorgeous girl, it's impossible to take a bad picture of her. This bride was up for anything despite her mother wincing when I asked Lindsy if she was up for laying on the grass in her dress and Lindsy says, "SURE!" I love a bride that is motivated for innovation! We did this shoot out at a local vineyard outside of Puxico, Mo, Indian Hills Winery.

I think they are equally stunning.

The Faughn Family

While I was back home in Poplar Bluff, MO I was asked if I would do a session of the Faughn Family. Of course, I said "YES!" Sarah is one of the happiest people I've met, she's a ball of fun. Anyways, Sarah says to me, "Can we get the pictures with the boys taken first, that way they can change" or something close to that, but that's totally normal. I don't think I've met too many men or boys that just LOVE having their picture taken, but I must say- the men are wearing my favorite color...GREEN and then we have the green trees...and grass...and the vineyard...I think that's it.

I love this color scheme so, so much! Sarah helping set up my wedding decor on my wedding day and remembered that I loved green! Not that they chose green for ME!! but I can think that...right?


I LOVE this image of the three of them. Sarah will do anything to make Millie laugh and smile. You can definitely tell they are a very loving, caring family.

This last image of Millie is one of my favorites because A. There's so much green! B. I love the little vineyard they have growing in their back yard. C. Because Millie was probably saying "I want to go inside and get a cookie." But said in more of a little girls voice. D. Because Millie is so stinkin' cute in that tutu!!!
I think that about covers it.

Anna and Brad - Downtown E-session

Anna and Brad have to be one of the cutest couples I've ever seen. You might remember them from a few months ago, back in May, I "secretly" photographed their proposal!! So, I was totally honored for them to ask me to shoot their city, urban engagement session! They will be getting married at the end of March this year and I know they will be the cutest bride and groom together!!

Doing this shoot made me fall in love with Houston's downtown area. There are so many different backgrounds and completely different location "looks" its overwhelming, but an amazing place to shoot.

After walking through downtown we went over to Midtown and yet again I was in love. I hadn't been to that area of town yet since we've lived in Houston. It's like it's own little town. ADORABLE!!

So, kudos to Anna and Brad for choosing 2 stellar locations!!!

Jonah's-Senior Session

Jonah was another one of my senior sessions I had while back home in Missouri. First, this was probably the coldest day of the year. Absolutely freezing. I had on my huge Northface and gloves and scarf and hat and I was till freezing, so I know Jonah was miserable. BUT he stuck it out like a true champ. He plays soccer for PBHS so I'm sure he's played in some brutal conditions before.

I was so excited to do this shoot with him because I had the opportunity to finally do another session on my family farm but this time it was at an abandoned house and barn that I love to visit. I'm just guessing here, but I think that last time someone lived there was in the 1930's? Either way, it's just a world of wonder and we had a blast. Hope you enjoy and congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Jonah!

Taylor House- Senior Session

Well HELLO!

I know it's been a few weeks since I last blogged, please forgive me!

I "recently" went home, back to my hometown in Missouri and had the opportunity to shoot a few sessions. Here we have Taylor who will be graduating and heading off the Kansas for school where he will be able to not only obtain an education, but also enjoy one of his biggest passions...ropin' and ridin'!! Taylor proudly received a scholarship to go to school which is a huge blessing to anyone. I wish him well on his amazing journey and maybe you'll see him in Vegas one day(ropin' and ridin' of course)!!!!

He's a little more country than that.

I had to take some shots of these amazing animals everywhere at his families farm.

Look at that amazing smile when he laughs!

True story: this cow licked my hand...it's similar to rubbing your hand on tree bark. hmm.

Maddy's Bridal Shoot

WOW! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to shoot my little brothers senior session. I can't believe he's already a senior! He was just 6 years old yesterday! sheeesh!

He's the most rugged, caring, loving, and outgoing little brother anyone could ask for! It shows in his pictures.

This truck he's driving is the one that he and our dad built from the ground up... He'll tell you what all else he has yet to do to it, but it's quite the beast....

Tavia's Sesnior Session

Tavia was SOOOO sparky and fashionable! She had the greatest outfits and ideas. We collaborated so well on this shoot to create a one-of-a-kind for her.

This shot reminds me of an ad in a magazine... how stunning is she?!?!

She wanted to do some shots at our local laundry cleaners and I couldn't have been MORE excited!

I've always wanted to and this was my chance! I love the way this shot turned out....we were having to be careful what we did because the lady on duty was very strict about what she'd let us do so we grabbed this in ONE SHOT!

I snapped this shot as we were all walking down the street. Her best friend and my assistant for the shoot, Kaylee and I we were laughing and when Tavia turned around...SNAP! She's so adorable.

Weston + Erin + Landon

This is the cutest little family of 3 and I'm so glad that I had the pleasure of capturing their precious moments. Landon is a handful and FULL of energy.

We did this shoot at an old barn that was just full of character and very authentic. After talking to the neighbor/owner of this barn, it turns out my best friends great grandfather built it!

Amanda + Bryan's Engagement session

Amanda and Bryan are planning their wedding for next year which will take place in Las Vegas!

Neither one of them is from Vegas but it's a fun place to get married so that's what they are doing.

I'm jealous.

We did their photo session in downtown Poplar Bluff around the train station, then headed over to a nearby park to get some more shots of them wearing their St. Louis Blues hockey jerseys. They are both huge fans and so we opted for a bright colored playground equipment at the park.

Dana + Gary = Wedding - Sneak Peek

I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to photograph the wedding of two wonderful people, Dana and Gary. Gary graduated from Lackland AFB earlier that day and they were married in front of the Bexar County Courthouse fountain. It was a beautiful day outside and the day was perfect. I was so honored they asked me to be their photographer. Dana had this amazing 50's style going on with the bird cage veil and the short champagne colored dress. She looked gorgeous, Gary looked handsome in his blues. They are a beautiful couple blessed with three very handsome, young boys. I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos!

I had such a wonderful, fun, and innovative time shooting Katelyn's Senior Session with her. I've known this girl since she was just a baby, I grew up with her oldest sister and have grown to love her entire family. So, it was only fitting that we get together to take her senior pictures.

We traveled throughout downtown Poplar Bluff and then out to country to do some more shooting. She had so many creative ideas and we just bounced ideas off of each other all afternoon.

E-session surprise!!!!! E-session = Engagement Session

Brad + KDP = SURPRISE ENGAGEMENT FOR ANNA!

So, here's the deal. Brad emailed me about a week ago asking me if I would be able to act AND be a photographer. If my family knows me and I think they do, they know this was no problem at all to act. Anyways, he asked if I could just "randomly" walk up to them at the park and tell them I'm an amateur photographer and just ask to take some photos of them to practice, agreeing to send them the pictures! Welllll she agreed to do so happily! Step one. CHECK!

So we did various poses and a few different locations around the park which was FULL of prom couples taking photos everywhere and then a tourist bus stopped by and unloaded.. yeah, they weren't from Missouri, Japanese tourist. So I was so nervous that we wouldn't have any clean backdrops, but we did! YAY! So as we made our way into the inside of the waterfall I took a few photos and then came the "proposal pose" I asked them to stand in and then I cued him "hey, why don't you pull a ring out of your pocket?"

She was so shocked, it was beautifully perfect!

This next photo is right after I asked if we could do the "cheesy" proposal pose, ANNND then I told him to act like he was pulling a ring out of his pocket.. BUT in this case, HE REALLY WAS!!! Anna realized what was going on and was totally surprised! Nice Job Brad!

Is this not the most AMAZING back drop for a proposal! It was Brads idea to come to this park and do the shoot at the Williams Tower Waterfall, which he'd never been to, so I had to show up early and scout some photo opts, well I've been to the park, but the day my husband and I went it was so windy you couldn't get close to the waterfall without getting sprayed!! Inside is amazing!

She was so surprised! It worked out perfectly!!

Christie + Drew Wedding

I had the greatest honor to shoot this wedding! Christie was up for anything I wanted to try, which makes for a really fun day! Christie and Drew are the most precious couple. He just recently graduated from the Air Force and is now going to continue training here in Texas. They were married in San Antonio a gorgeous city and home of the Alamo! (i've always wanted to go there) They were married in front of the city court house in downtown with one of the oldest churches in the country towering behind them, along with a beautiful waterfall....ok, enough rambling! I now present the Payne Wedding!

SNEAK PEEK! Christie + Drew = My first wedding!!

I'm not gonna say much in this post since its a sneak peek, but it was in San Antonio on Friday for a beautiful couple Christie and Drew! SOO! I went home for about 10 days over the winter holidays, Christmas and NYE with my husband to spend time with my family before we moved to Houston, TX. I had so much fun catching some of these photos. We had some awesome lighting outside on Christmas day right as the sun was going down outside my home. So, I grabbed a few of my cousins and my Aunt and Uncle and we headed outside to snap a few before the sun went down! Yes, it was freezing!!! We live in Missouri and it was Christmas DAY! HA HA! Hello- once again! I know it's been forever! But we moved to Houston, Tx! I did lose some clients that I love and appreciate for giving me the chance to take their photographs! THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I also have some clients that are further away now, back in Poplar Bluff!!! They also gave me the chance to be apart of their lives and photograph them and again, I thank you so much!

This new post is of the Marquis grand-kids.. We went to the Public Library in Poplar Bluff to do this shoot and I think it was perfect! N and M were such a please to work with, although they were slightly ill, it all worked out and everyone was still smiling! I enjoy working with kids because you never know what they are going to do. Some have a mind of their own, others just want to play, which is perfectly fine!! Enjoy these photos and let me know what you think!!! :)

WOW! It's been a looong time since I've posted on here! Sorry ya'll! Well my husband and I are finally down here in Houston, TX trying to get settled in. FIRST, I have some photo shoots to share with you all though. I was privileged to do a session with three precious pets and their gracious owners!! They had two dogs, Mici and Jazzy and a cat, Belle. Belle wasn't too keen on being photographed until she saw how great Jazzy and Mici were doing. I'm not gonna lie, it took some effort to get three animals to pay attention, but we worked it anyways! :) Here are a few photos from the shoot, ENJOY!!!

Holiday Cookies-

I made half a batch of cookies tonight, which ended up making 63 cookies AFTER I ate alot of the dough.. its the best dough I've EVER had. I make these cookies every year for Christmas time and they are wonderful! They are called Neiman Marcus Cookies, which I'm sure some of your may have heard of. They mainly consist of sugar, nuts, oatmeal, chocolate chips, chopped up Hershey bar, and butter plus a few other ingredients. YUM they are so good!!! Anyways- they were so pretty and lovely looking i decided to share them with you!!! ENJOY!! I wish you could smell them...Mmmmm

Blakely- 12 weeks

Blakely is such a beautiful little girl to photograph! I'm going to miss being able to do photo sessions of her and her family when we move. (My husband and I are relocating to Houston, TX) Anyways-

so their house was beautifully decorated with Christmas and holiday decor, just b-e-a-utiful! If you know me, you KNOW I love Christmas so much and so I decided to use the trees to theme this session. Hope you enjoy!

The Montgomery Family

I had such a great time with the Montgomery family the other day at the park doing a family shoot. The weather was scheduled to be rain but it turned out PERFECT! I was so happy! This was a very impromptu photo shoot last weekend after I was done with another shoot. We had about 10 minutes worth of light left in the day and so we were able to get a few shots in. Baby Blakely...6 weeks

A couple weeks ago I did a shoot with Blakely and her older brother Vinnie. Two of the cutest kids. Blakely was just six weeks old and quite squirmy but we managed to get a bunch of great shots of her. We were able to get a couple shots with her big brother Vinnie and her daddy. Lauren and Erik were so much fun! They are such a great couple and needed very little direction! She even had ideas of her own. I LOVE THAT! I love a fun bride who's up for anything. We were in Marietta, Ga wandering the streets on a humid 96 degree day! I know they had to be hot...because i was hot and i had shorts and a tee on! WHEW! The shoot turned out great though...

On My Weekend Home....

I went home a few weekend ago and decided to share some pictures with you of my family. They mean so much to me. These few kids and adult are all my cousins and that doesn't touch the other 16 i have!! YA, big family... but you gotta love us! We tell people were like the family from "my big fat greek wedding" lol minus the fact that were not Greek. Anyways- we have fun and I hope you enjoy the photos!!! :)

Kodiak: PETS

Kodiak is the newest addition to my family. We've had him for about two and a half months and hes only made our life better. We have so just fun with him, he's a joy to have around. We were outside recently just playing around with his new toy and his favorite "nature toy"...pine cones! He loves them!! So I though I'd share some of the photos we did on him shoot!!

Baby Noah was just precious. He was about two weeks old in this photo shoot. He was so tiny and a please to shoot. We got some great shots outside and decided to move inside for a few more. It was a hot June day. So we couldn't stay outside forever.

I couldn't figure out if i liked this first shot better in color or B&W...What do you think??

I had so much fun getting all these wonderful shots of Lauren. We went all around this little square in Georgia in a town near where she lives. She's actually not a senior in high school but she was willing to let me take some photos of her anyways. Thank you! She was so easy to work with. You'd have to try and take a bad shot of her. She's beautiful. Take a look at her pictures and you'll see what I mean.
